INTRODUCTION

Astrology is a science which is very popular in india.
In Indian Astrology, this system has been explained as
space time connection. Within the space, there are four elements
Air, Fire, water and earth each is therefold attributes, sattva,
Raja and Tamsa and make up 12 grand divisions in the nature.
The Zodiac in which earth and all the planets are
permanently imprisoned by gravitation and revolve round the sun
is divided by 12 clusters of stars or signs of the zodiac.
Each sign has a certain specific influence of its own.
All planets as they travel around each zodiac sign, exert an
influence according to their seperate nature and in accordance
with the quality of aspects which they form.

Astrology. It is the best investment you could make.
Astrology is a totally pragmatic study that has
survived the test of time and the attacks of both religion a nd
modern science. Astrology, the study of correspondences between
the patterns in the sky and the events of earth is not a religion
demanding blind faith. It makes our participation in the evolving
cosmos more effective. It is a potential science in the process
of being reborn.
Another name for Astrology is Jyothishya. According to
western interpretations, Astrology is derived from Aster meaning
a star and Logos meaning reason or logic. Astrology is a science
which interprets the governance of earthly beings by the
celestial bodies. Astrology has nothing whatsover to do with
Fatalism or wichcraft. From time immemorial, man has been
watching the movements of the sun, moon, the planets and the
stars. This system is commonly known as solar system as sun is
the centre and from this centre, other planets in distance are
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Later
discoveries added Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Astrology interprets
what it conceives to be the future of man as indicated by the
future of man as indicated by the planetary positions at the time
of birth.
When one knows what the present and future has in store
for him through the knowledge of the influences of th e stars,
he will be better equipped and in a better position to handle
the future more successfully.
Horoscope Matching :-
Even today, Indian Astrology believes that marriages
are made in heaven. In India, our sages have enumerated on the
vital need of matching the horoscopes but few care for this
advice and repent later when unhappy or broken marriges result.
This is true, all over the world.
In modern times, there are various new factors such as
career women, equal rights for women etc. But the laws of
nature never change.
Houses :-
There are twelve houses in Astrology and a house is
constituted with 30 degrees. The twelve houses of the horoscope
should not be confused with the twelve signs of the Zodiac,
because twelve house are divisions in a chart and always occupy
the same place while the signs are sections in a Zodiac and due
to the Earth's motion on its axis, they are consantly revolving
from the east, over the meredian to the west. The spaces are
termed as houses upon which we write the signs and symbols of
the planets according to their location at a specified time.
Each house has a distinct nature and relates
particularly to the particular matreial interests and
conditions, while the signs tellus more of the spiritual
qualities which manifest as character, temperament and tendencis.
Computers and Astrology :-
Indian Astrology has three major facets. 1. Detailed
mathematical calculations 2. The rules and the information based
on these rules to predict the influence of the planet 3.
Hewristic predictions.
Indian Astrology has many rules covering the various
aspects of life and to make an accurate prediction, these rules
have to be taken in account.
Salient points of Indian Astrology :-
Since Arcient times, in india, our saints and sages
have imported valuable knowledge to mankind concerning
Astrology. Even now, india is known for its mastery of
Astrology. Astrology has become necessary as well as useful for
the modern man. Through this, man can know his past present and
future as well as regarding many events from Astrologers as well
as scholars. The Salient points are as follows:-
Rashichakra :-
Rashichakra is regarded as 360 degree of the imaginary
globe in which important houses as well as nakshatras have their
own place these positions keep changing from time to time.
Therefore, to make anyone's horoscope to know the correct time is
necessary otherwise at the time of making predictions, they will
not be accurate.

Calculation of Birth Dasa :-
The dasa and its balance at the time of birth are
calculated from the position of Moon at birth. Each nakshatra
extends over 13 degrees 20 minutes of arc or 800 minutes. The
Moon may be occupying any degree or minute in a star at birth,
may just be entering or a portion has covered of it. The expired
portion of the arc in the asterism is of no use, so the
unexpired portion is to be calculated.

Shadbala of Planets :-
There are six types of bal of the planets. They are
Sthanbal, Digbal, Kalabal, Nasargikbal, Cheshtabal and Drigbal.
Thus, there are 6 types of bal. If in the beginning, the balabal
of the planets, there are methods of calculations therefore to
make predictions, it is necessary to know about these bals.
Sthanbal :-
That planet which is in its own house, friends house,
Mool Thrikonasth, Sva, Navamshstha and Dreshkonastha, it is
known as Sthanbal.
Moon and Venus in even sign and other planets in odd
signs are powerful.
Digbal :-
Present in Mercury and Jupiter Ascendant, Venus and
Moon in the fourth, Saturn in the seventh and Sun and Mars in the
tenth position, constitutes digbal. Because Ascendant is in the
east the tenth house in the south, the seventh house in the west
and the fourth house direction. That is why, the place where
these planets are positioned is known as Digbal.
Kalabal :-
Being born at night, Moon, Saturn and Mars are
powerful, and being born in the daytime, Sun, Mercury and Venus
are known as Kalbali. Another view is that Mercury always gets
kalbal day and night.
Nasargikbal :-
Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Moon and Sun
are serially powerful.
Cheshtabal :-

Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn together with Moon is
known as Cheshtabal.
Drigbal :-
Aspected by beneficial planets, they get Drigbal.
Planet's Power :-
These planets which are less than 3 degree in Shadbal,
are very weak. Those planets which are more than 6 degree in
Shadbal, are always powerful.
Between 3 degree to 6 degree, planets have medium
power.
The planets which are very powerful, exert a positive
influence for the person born under that Ascendant. The planets
with medium power, give medium results. The planets with weak
power, give few good results.

parts to 4 degree 17 kala 8 vikla constitutes the Sapthmansh.
To take out the Sapthmansh of the ascendant and
planets. Even sign, that sign's seven signs and odd signs of
that sign's Sapthmansh calculation can be done. Through
Sapthmansh, we can know about children and grandchildren.
5. Navansh or Navmansh :-
In one sign, nine parts are known as Navamansh. These
3 degree are of 20 kala. The method is this that in Aries, the
first Navansh is of Aries, the second of Taurus, the third of
Gemini, the fourth of Cancer, the five the of Leo, the sixth is
of Virgo, the seventh of Libra, the eight of Scorpio, the ninth
is of Sagittarius. In these nine Navansh as Aries sign ends and
Taurus beings is in Taurus sign, the first Navansh, its before
the last Navansh of Aries. In this way, the first Navansh of

calculated as follows. That planet's sign has to be left, the
degrees of kalas has to be made, the first kala has to be added
to that. These yogphalwali kalas have to be given 30 parts,
whatever is the result, to that we have to add, Shashtansh is
for all conditions.

Karkansh Kundli's method :-
In Sun and the other planets, seven in all, the
planet which has the highest degrees is known as athmakarak The
one which has fewer degrees than the Athmakarak is known as
Amatyakarak, less than Amatyakarak is known as Bhratrakarak,
even less than, that is Matrikarak, fewer degrees than
Matrakarak is Putrakarak, less than the previous is Jatikarak
and even less than that is Striekarak.
Ashtakvarg Vichar :-
In modren times there are three famous or known
methods of making predictions. They are Janam Lagna, chandra
Lagna and Navash Lagna. Depending on the place, that rasi holds
importance in his life. In Astrology, to give gochar vidhi
importance, Ashtakvarg vidhi has been dervied. At the time of
man's birth, the rasi's position the bad and good events of ones
life are influenced by it. In this way, the Ascendant at the
time of one's birth influencs the good and bad events of one's
life. Therefore in even planets and Rasi and the Ascendant the
seven planets and Ascendant influence it. Every planet gives
power to their own resplitive Ashtakvary and influence the good
and bad events in one's life. Also influenceing the events in a
person's life are bindus. The seven planets ashta varg are given
